WINTER BLANKET DRIVE FOR THE ANIMAL SHELTERS
CLOSES ON 4 JUNE 2012

- Cape Town Drive closes on 10 June 2012 -

Winter is now around the corner and we are on our annual mission for the Pretoria, Joburg, Durban, PE and Cape Town animal shelters - buying and collecting food and blankets for our furry friends in need.

With each consecutive year, this drive has grown - from supporting just 4 shelters in 2003, to a massive 50 shelters and organisations in 2011. It is always our goal to grow our collection from year to year, and in 2011, with your generosity, we raised a whopping R125 000. This enabled us to purchase over 3600 blankets, tons of dog, puppy, cat and kitten food and treats, toys, brushes, shampoo, leads and bowls as well as to contribute to vet bills and desperately needed sterlisation funds. With your support we are hoping to reach at least R100 000 again this year!

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?
Support the drive with a monetary donation which allows us to purchase bales of blankets and food direct from manufacturers at wholesale prices, which means we can buy even more.

Please use your name / email address as the reference and e-mail donations@blanketdrive.co.za with your details to so that we can compile a list of contributors, thank you personally and update you with the progress.

Buy or collect blankets, carpets, towels and sealed cat or dog food - donate this to the drive for us to distribute in Joburg (Highlands North or Wynberg - or contact us for a drop off point which we might be able to arrange closer to you) OR donate them directly to your local animal shelter. Cape Town will have drop off points available as we have a team collecting there.

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO CREATE AWARENESS
Download posters and web banners here. Please print and place these on your office/school notice boards, on your intranet, add it to your email signature and website if possible. Forward this emailer onto all friends, family and colleagues - the more people we reach the more shelters we can help, the more animals we can keep warm through winter !

WE CHALLENGE COMPANIES AND SCHOOLS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BLANKET DRIVE !
Over the years we have had fantastic support from many companies, their staff and from schools such as : Grant Thornton, Vox DataPro, Deutsche Bank, Bell Dewar, Bowman Gilfillan, Anglo Platinum, Brian Kahn Inc., Royal Canin, Integr8 IT, ABSA, Turner & Townsend, King David Junior School, St Stithians, Summit Prep and Charterhouse College to name just a few. Running a blanket drive within your company or school is a great way to LEAD SA and do your bit for the animals in our shelters.
